Activities in Inishowen

The most northerly point of Ireland, Inishowen is unique for the outstanding beauty of its geographical location, and the many historical sites on the peninsula. Ideal for a weekend getaway, a golf outing or a heritage trip, Inishowen is truly one of Ireland’s finest tourist attractions.

With several historical sites just minutes from McGrory’s, not only is Inishowen steeped in  history and heritage, but also has its fair share of stunning beaches and places of beauty such as Kinnagoe Bay, Malin Head, Grianan of Aileach, Inch Island Bird Sanctuary  and Carrickabraghy Castle on the Isle of Doagh.

With close links to Derry, Inishowen is just a half hour drive away from this walled City, and is seen as the popular tourist destination for many people in Northern Ireland. Donegal's beautiful Glenveigh National Park is a very pleasant day- trip using McGrorys as a base and why not climb Errigal , Donegal 's highest mountain while you're there?

Culdaff beach attracts the keenest surfers and Ballyliffin provides a world-class platform for golf, including the 2018 Irish Open.

We have put together a few ideas for excursions and activities in Inishowen, and would be more than happy to help arrange your day trips should you decide to make McGrory’s your base for a 2 or 3 day stay.
